Veterinary and Animal Science students at IASE study the welfare, breeding, development, nutrition, physiology, pathology, behavior, management and production of domestic and laboratory animals. In addition to providing opportunities to develop skills in animal management, as also in clinical and laboratory procedures, the programme promotes scientific awareness, critical and ethical thinking, as well as verbal and written communication. These skills are acquired through laboratory and lecture courses, independent studies with faculty conducting research programmes and participation in students and faculty-run programmes at the department. Extensive facilities provide opportunities for students to work directly with cattle, goats, horses, camels, pigs, and sheep in their classes and laboratories.
A beautiful cattle-farm cum breeding center cum clinic named Go Seva Sadan, under GVM is within our campus. This not only provides hygienic and fresh supply of milk to the campus fraternity but also serves as a base for practical training to students. There are about 300 cattle in the farm. During the onslaught of droughts and famines, relief camps are organized up to 10,000 progeny of cows.
